Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART)
Website Redesign

Somat is currently advising Southeastern Michigan’s regional transportation authority on a complete rethinking and redesign of its public-facing website, including development and deployment of the new website.  Approximately 250,000 people ride SMART buses and shuttles every month.  The project includes graphic redesign, improved navigation, functionality and content.  In addition, we are integrating the appropriate social media into the site to increase awareness and ridership of the SMART system.  Somat was awarded this mandate over several significantly larger IT firms based on our unique, cost-effective and cutting-edge recommendations.

Social Security Administration (SSA) - Office of Electronic Services (OES)
Intranet Redesign

The SSA’s OES group requires the redesign of their internal website to enhance the promotion and communication of their information within the SSA.  Somat is leading a bottom-up approach to the project, including budget, requirements, design, programming, content acquisition and operational support.

Google Search Appliance Integration

Somat is working with Adhere Solutions, the leading Google Federal partner, to develop custom software and integration services for Google Search Appliance implementations at the U.S. House of Representatives.

Detroit Water and Sewerage Department
Land Acquisition Geographical Information System (LAGIS) for the Upper Rouge River Tunnel

Somat used GIS technology to develop and maintain a geographic information system, including a flexible graphical user interface (GUI), for one of the country's largest regional utilities.  The project needed hundreds of private and public properties within a specified zone surrounding the project area to be acquired within a specified time.  With the LAGIS developed by Somat, the project team was capable of assembling, storing, manipulating, and displaying geographically referenced land ownership information collected "offline" and then relating it back in an electronic spatial context.
